Chola with Peas
Recipe: Soak beans overnight. Drain the water in a strainer, and rinse the beans thoroughly after soaking. Brown the seeds in hot ¼ cup oil in a shallow pot. Add minced 1 Tbs. each ginger & garlic, Sliced 3 medium onions one by one & make golden brown. Add 4 cubed cut medium potato and cook 3 minutes. Add curry, salt, peas; mix well and cook over medium heat. Add 3 ½ cup water, cover and cook until peas are soft. Add 1 cup chopped cilantro. Serve hot. Mix with 1tbs. plain yogurt and 1tsp. Tamarind Chutney in one serving bowl. To make it hot add pepper or Shiba’s Hot Curry Chutney. Serves 6-8. Purchase List: Fresh Ginger, Garlic, Onions, Potatoes, and Cilantro.
