Shiba’s Mung Dal
Recipe: Wash Dal thoroughly and soak for ½ hour in 4 cups of water. Place Dal, Shiba’s Turmeric (supplied) and salt in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil, turn heat to medium, cover and cook till the legumes are soft and gets to the desired thickness, stir occasionally. Brown Shiba’s Popping Seeds (supplied) in hot 2Tbs. Shiba’s Ghee (Clarified Butter) in a separate small pan. Add, 1 Tbs. each, chopped ginger & garlic & golden brown. Toss ½ cup cilantro on the pan; pour in Dal, stir well and serve hot. Serves 6 as soup or gravy. Cook Time 35 mins. Purchase List: Fresh Garlic, Ginger, Cilantro, Shiba’s Ghee (Clarified Butter).
